Technical compliance assessment

Our Practices / Technical compliance assessment

Assess compliance with confidence

A code compliance assessment provides a clear understanding of a building's regulatory status. Codex evaluates applicable requirements to identify compliance gaps, assess potential risks and help prioritize corrective actions.

Codex conducts technical code compliance assessments to determine the extent to which a building meets the requirements of applicable codes, standards and regulations.

Our assessments may include, but are not limited to:

fire safety;

occupant safety;

exits and means of egress;

fire-resistance ratings;

fire alarm systems;

sprinkler systems;

emergency power supply;

fire protection zones;

construction methods;

building systems;

emergency lighting;

occupancy classifications, occupant loads and permitted uses;

floor areas and overall building configuration.

Following the assessment, Codex can provide recommendations, identify corrective measures and prepare a preliminary budget for the required work.

As part of this landmark performing arts and cultural complex in Québec City, Codex supported the project team through several building code compliance mandates. Our work included the new glass enclosure, space planning, code compliance assessments of the existing building, and technical support throughout various phases of the project.
